Music Week: Audiomovers appoints Nile Rodgers as chief collaborator and chair of its board of advisors

Audiomovers, the tech company behind Abbey Road’s innovation offer and pioneers of audio collaboration technologies, has revealed the appointment of Nile Rodgers as chief collaborator and chair of its board of advisors.

In this position, Rodgers, a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Songwriters Hall Of Fame inductee and multiple Grammy Award-winning songwriter, composer, producer, arranger and guitarist, will be leading a group of advisors drawn from artists and technologists. His involvement is part of Audiomovers’ mission to champion creatives and support artist-led creativity, aiming to break down technological barriers.

Audiomovers has enabled remote music creation for producers and engineers working with the likes of Aaron Dessner (Taylor Swift), Illmind (J Cole, Jay Z), Jesse Ray Ernster (Burna Boy) and Stuart White (Beyoncé) and powered more than three million collaborative sessions to date. It is now planning to expand its focus beyond collaboration to creating tools for managing, moving and creating audio. “Creativity is born in connection and collaboration – in those subtle, powerful moments where ideas collide, vulnerability is shared, and innovation emerges from the unexpected,” said Rodgers. “No one enables that better than Audiomovers. They saved the music industry during the pandemic and quickly established themselves as the go-to for global collaboration; now they are transforming what’s possible for creators everywhere. This opportunity speaks to everything I care about in music and creativity – I knew I had to be part of it. Together, we’re going to elevate how artists, producers, and composers create together – and push the future of music forward.”

Dom Dronska, general manager at Audiomovers, commented: “Audiomovers continues Abbey Road’s legacy of game-changing audio innovation – challenging industry norms and setting the standard for how creators collaborate globally. But we’re not stopping there. Now, we’re pushing the possibilities of what comes next: giving creators new, seamless ways to move, manage and connect audio at every stage of their creative process. And making sure that nothing stands in the way of bold ideas being made real. The music industry runs on creative exchange, and nobody embodies this spirit better than Nile Rodgers. He personifies collaboration, innovation and creativity. There’s simply no one better to help us imagine and shape the future of how music is made.”
